Where are you right now?
Not in your career. Not based on your income. Not based on your title. Where are you in your performance?
Two people can have completely different incomes and still be dealing with the same challenge underneath. That's why the BUILD → PERFORM → CHAMPION framework, developed by Michael Fox Coaching, doesn't sort people into beginner, intermediate and advanced. The more useful question is:
What is keeping you from your next level?
"I know I want more, but something inside me keeps getting in the way."
Build the person capable of producing the result.
Read BUILD ↓"I know what to do. I'm just not doing it consistently at the level I'm capable of."
Close the gap between your potential and your consistent performance.
Read PERFORM ↓"I'm already performing at a high level. I want to find out how much better I can become."
When you're already excellent, discover what separates excellent from extraordinary.
Read CHAMPION ↓Build the person capable of producing the result.
Who do you need to become to produce the result you want?
You know what you want. But something underneath your performance isn't strong enough, or steady enough, yet.
This has nothing to do with income or years in the business. You might be newer. Or you might have twenty years and a great book of business, and discover that an old belief about money, worth or rejection is quietly capping the next level.
For example: Imagine an advisor who has the list, the script and the time, and still finds a reason not to pick up the phone.
Close the gap between your potential and your consistent performance.
What would happen if your best performance became your normal performance?
You have the ability. You have the experience. You've had real success. The problem is that your best doesn't show up often enough.
You know you should make the call. Follow up. Ask for the business. Prepare for the meeting. Spend more time with the relationships that matter. You know which activities create results. The issue isn't knowing. It's doing.
For example: Consider a wholesaler who has a monster quarter, then lets activity slide for two months, then has to dig out again.
When you're already excellent, discover what separates excellent from extraordinary.
What separates who you are today from the person capable of your next extraordinary result?
You already have confidence, discipline, strong habits, great relationships and a track record. Nothing needs to be fixed. That's the point.
You're not asking "what's wrong with me?" You're asking "how good could I actually become?" This is for the person who refuses to assume today's success is the ceiling.
For example: A top-performing RVP might already be winning, and still want to lead, think and decide at a whole different level.
CHAMPION doesn't mean "better person." BUILD doesn't mean "unsuccessful."
These paths describe the type of work that's likely to create the biggest improvement for you right now. That's all.
And people move between them. A top producer working at a CHAMPION level might find one BUILD-level belief holding back their recruiting. Someone focused on PERFORM might need to shore up a BUILD foundation first. It's flexible on purpose.
BTFAR explains how performance is created:
BELIEF → THOUGHT → FEELING → ACTION → RESULT
BUILD → PERFORM → CHAMPION helps you see where the greatest opportunity is right now. Simple as that.
